Free condoms are available at all government health centres. Remember that when condoms are used consistently and correctly they are up to 98% effective in reducing unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV.
The Ndola Youth Resource Centre has partnered with other youth organisations to implement the ‘It is Sweeter When Safer” condom campaign. The campaign raises awareness around the availability of both male and female condoms at health centres. Condoms have also been distributed to colleges, lodges, bars, youth centres and some places of work.
With the help of night-time security guards in the Ndola city centre, condoms were recently distributed to some of the most at risk populations, like female sex workers.
Whether a condom is used for oral, vaginal or anal sex, always make sure you use it correctly to keep it from slipping off or breaking. Remember, mutual consent and foreplay should always come before sexual action. Find out how to store, use and remove a condom - the right way!
