Zambia’s sensational female boxer Esther Phiri’s love life is back in the media. Four year ago she packed up her boxing gloves in order to concentrate on her ‘private life’. But rumors swirled that she was actually pregnant and about to marry a senior government official. However, no wedding nor pregnancy developed.
Recently, strong rumors have started again that Phiri is dating another senior cabinet minister and is carrying his child. But, just like the last time, Phiri has rubbished such stories calling them false allegations coming from people that are jealous of her. She has accused Zambians of having a “pull her down” (phd) syndrome, especially to famous people such as herself.
"Do I look like I am pregnant?" she asked in a report in webantu media.
“Maybe it’s because people are jealous and they want to pull me down and shame me. They just need to focus whatever they are doing. They are not supposed to concentrate on my life. I have a private life and I can do whatever I want." she said.
"Sibaniziba ati ndine mu Zambian? Mwana wamu Zako ngati achita ako bwino. Just appreciate me, don't pull me down. I am not pregnant and next year I am resuming training," Esther said.
Esther seems to have it right, she has a good career still ahead of her and she is not going to fall pregnant before she chooses to - despite all the rumors about her. Tell us how to you keep your head above rumors?
