External and internal reproductive organs in males and their functions

These include:

• Penis: The male sex organ, gets erected on sexual stimulation (gets longer and harder) due to increased blood flow. It is the organ of urination and ejaculation (deposition of sperms inside the vagina during intercourse).
• Testicles: produces sperms ad male sex hormone.
• Epididymis: Location of sperm maturation and storage between ejaculations.
• Vas deferens: storage and transport of sperms from the testis to the urethra.
• Seminal vesicles: Produce seminal fluid to provide energy to sperms.
• Prostate: Contributes alkaline secretions to seminal fluid which neutralize vaginal secretions.
• Scrotum: A skin sac that houses and protects testes and provide lower temperature for sperm maturation.
