Here's who's spreading it..

Married men are sleeping around and not using condoms! This is according to the District Aids Task Force (DATF). This comes despite the fact that one in four people who live in Livingstone are HIV+.

The Lusaka Times reports that they are seeing new HIV infections being recorded daily. DATF head, Eugene Kamuti, says that one of the biggest problems is that married men are sleeping around. They bring HIV home and aren’t using condoms with their wives – which means it gets passed to them.

Kamuti says that married men are also going to sex workers and having unprotected sex with them.

“Women are taught to be submissive to their husbands and as a result these women cannot choose to use condoms when their partners are not agreeable in marriage and still practice unsafe sex."

Men, if you are sleeping around, protect your family from STIs and HIV by using condoms.

Women, it is hard to ask your man to wear a condom if you are married or have been together for a long time. But do you know really whom else he is sleeping with? It is harder to deal with HIV than have a tough conversation. Insist you take an HIV test together and make your sex rules clear – no condom, no sex.
